Erik K. Koda, M.D, MPH
is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy 1990, Uniformed Services University in 1994, Travis AFB Family Medicine residency 1997, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health 2007, Brooks AFB Aerospace and Occupational Medicine residency in 2009, and a graduate of the UCLA /Helms Medical Acupuncture Course in 2014.
Dr. Koda is one of the nation’s most experienced primary care acupuncturists, performing over 15,000 acupuncture treatments in in a family medicine capacity in a Federally Qualified Health Center in California and currently at the Air Force Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine Center and the Banholzer Clinic at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
Dr. Koda is the on the Editorial Board of the Journal Medical Acupuncture. He retired from the United States Air Force in 2015 obtaining the rank of Colonel after 25 years of active-duty service. He has been Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of California Riverside and at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. In 2019, he was recognized as the outstanding family medicine preceptor for the University of California Riverside School of Medicine. He has been published in 7 international medical journals, including acupuncture publications in the Annals of Family Medicine, Journal of Family Practice and in Medical Acupuncture.
